Welcome and thank you for taking the time to visit my Superintendent page. I would like to introduce as well as re-introduce myself to all patrons of Coyote Ridge Golf Club. My name is Kris White and was the previous Superintendent from 2005 to 2008 and was brought on when The Sam Moon Group purchased the course. I am happy to say that I am back home at the course I love and helped change during all of the course renovations. Thank you to everyone who has welcomed me back and proud to say that the course is in good hands.
August has been another extremely busy month keeping the course conditions exceptional. Many thanks go to my seasoned maintenance staff. As we hit the final stretch of the summer heat, it is refreshing to know that it will soon be cooling down and the weather will be perfect to hit the course.
As we move into September, we will be focusing our efforts on overall course conditions and detail which sets us apart from the other courses in the metro-plex. Greens maintenance is our #1 priority and we strive to have the best. The greens are rolling extremely smooth and pure as well as fast. Coyote Ridge is not your average daily fee or municipal golf course when it comes to our greens maintenance. Here at Coyote Ridge, we walk mow daily and roll greens twice weekly, whereas most of these other courses mow with riding greens mowers. Riding mowers do not cut as close, cause tire marks, and potentially cause damage to greens with occasional hydraulic leaks. By walk mowing our greens, the cut is much more uniform, provides a far superior putting surface, along with increased speed. In order to have the best greens, they have to be maintained the best which is what you get at Coyote Ridge.
